He was predeceased by : his parents, Francis J. Kavanagh and Beverly J. Kavanagh (Affleck); and his siblings, William, Patrick Kavanagh and Bonnie Gallagher.

He is survived by : his wife Gladys L. Kavanagh (Cooper); his sisters, Susan Kavanagh of Manville, RI and Laurie Burtchell (late Wayne) of North Attleboro, MA; and his siblings-in-law, Denise Kavanagh of East Providence and Thomas Gallagher of Pawtucket. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
