He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald Gibson and Jean Gibson (Ahles); and his sister Sherry Compagnone. He is survived by: his spouse Kay Gibson (Kimmel); his children, Donald M. Gibson III and Kristy Vanderbeck (Kevin); and his grandchildren, Kara and Kylie Vanderbeck.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 14th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home (659 E Greenwich Ave, West Warwick, RI 02893). A funeral service was held on Friday, November 14th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A committal service was held on Friday, November 14th 2025 at 11:30 AM at the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery (301 S County Trail, Exeter, RI 02822-9712).
