He was predeceased by: his parents, Paola Mendez Baltazar and Cornelio Betancourt Ayala; and his siblings, Abraham and Augustine Betancourt Mendez. He is survived by: his children, Isabella Ramos (Selvin), Zachary Betancourt (Beberly), Miguel Betancourt Smith (Rose), Vanessa Betancourt and Gabriella Betancourt (Michael); his grandchildren, Jayden, Santiago, Laylah Ramos Betancourt, Xavier Betancourt, Addison, Meadow and Salem Betancourt; his former wife Neva June Smith; and his siblings, Saturino, Emilio, Clemente and Cornrado Betancourt Mendez.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 16th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 6:30 PM at the Iannotti Funeral Home (415 Washington St, Coventry, RI 02816). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, September 16th 2026 at 6:30 PM at the same location.
