He was predeceased by: his wife Maureen E. Young-McGarry; his parents, Thomas McGarry and Eleanor McGarry (Conlon); and his siblings, Brian McGarry, Kim McGarry-Volpe, Eleanor McGarry and Maragret Wennberg.
He is survived by: his daughter Dawn Patricia McGarry-Lima; his granddaughter Anya Grace Lima of Coventry; his sisters, Marylou Holland of Providence and Sheila McGarry of Texas; and his siblings' children, Jami Volpe-Coletta, Jonathan, Jason Rodriguez, Caty, Brandon Colon and Robert Holland, Jr..
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 13th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Carpenter-Jenks Funeral Home (659 E Greenwich Ave, West Warwick, RI 02893). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 14th 2025 at 9:45 AM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, August 14th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Saints John and Paul Church (341 S Main St, Coventry, RI 02816). A burial will be held on Thursday, August 14th 2025 at 12:30 PM at the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery (301 S County Trail, Exeter, RI 02822-9712).
