He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter Messina and Betty Messina (Cirelli). He is survived by: his spouse Robin Messina (Taylor); his son Ryan Messina (Lisa Gregory); and his brother Sam Messina (Gwen). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
