He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Melvan and Julia Melvan; and his sons, August, Jerome and Ambrose.
He is survived by: his wife Christine Lis; his children, Nicholas Melvan (Tina Durfee), Maria Amaral (George) and Mark Melvan (Ayana); his grandchildren, Natasha Amaral, Phoenix and Kingston Melvan; and his great grandchildren, Elias, Joey George and Maxwell.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 3rd 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Buckler-Johnston Funeral Home (121 Main St, Westerly, RI 02891). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:15 AM at the Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery (301 S County Trail, Exeter, RI 02822).
