She was predeceased by: her parents, Jeanette James and William James Sr.; her husband Earl Stedman; her brothers, Edward and William James Jr.; and her grandson William Pont.
She is survived by: her children, Lisa Martin, Sherrie Mello (Dennis) and Jonathan Pont (Michelle); and her great grandchildren, Reed Palmer and Xander Vanderhoff.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made on her behalf to Central Baptist Church of 16 Elm Street, Westerly, Rhode Island.
