She was predeceased by : her parents, Edward and Dorothy; and her brother Michael. She is survived by : her husband Jay. She is also survived by three beautiful children, their spouses and eight grandchildren.

“A woman who truly knew how to listen and let you know that she heard you! Once upon a time, we all were young together in Colchester, and the fond memories of those days follow me still. They were renewed each time I met Dottye, lately at Saint Edmund's on Enders Island, or back "at home" at Saint Andrew's to say goodbye to a piece of our shared past. I am ever so grateful to the Almighty and to you, her family, for the gift of her, which you have generously shared with the rest of us.”
