As we bid Mary Ann farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Mary Ann is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
She was predeceased by: her son Morgan Cottrell Ellis; her brother Thomas Haight Chalfant; and her parents, Mary Chalfant and John Chalfant. She is survived by: her husband Dwight Warren Ellis III; her son Warren Marshall Ellis; and her sister Jane Chalfant Ackley.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 8th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Weekapaug Chapel (106 Noyes Neck Rd, Westerly, RI 02891).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Brooklyn Museum, and/or Brooklyn Community Services (BCS).
