He is survived by: his wife Mary Ellen (King) of Stillman Avenue; his stepchildren, Dawn E. Birkbeck of Hanahan, SC, Karen J. Simmons (Kevin) of Pawcatuck and Gary S. Birkbeck of Pawcatuck; his sister Sandra Brokaw (Lee) of Hilman, TN; and his godchildren, Kassandra Brokaw and Kristie Davis. He is also survived by eleven step-grandchildren; thirteen step-great-grandchildren; a niece.
