She was predeceased by: her parents, August Massaro and Grace Massaro; and her husband Darrell Lee Bates. She is survived by: her daughters, Debra Psimer, Serena G. Bates, Jr. and Darlene Ross; her sister-in-law Stella Massaro; her sister Grace C. Andrews; her sons-in-law, Paul Psimer, Mike Barca and Jason Lober; and her grandchildren, Michael Barca, Christina Psimer and Donald Psimer. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in her memory.
