He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph G. Payette and Angelina Payette (Lahousse); and his siblings, Rene Payette, Norman Payette, Claire Bedard (Payette) and Rita Plasse (Payette).
He is survived by: his wife Jacqueline "Jackie" Payette (Collins); his children, Deborah A. Myette (Payette) of Chepachet, James A. Payette of Woonsocket and Dr. Christopher R. Payette of Smithfield; and his siblings, Gerard Payette, Muriel Marcos (John) and Eileen Faford (Richard). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 22nd 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Holt Funeral Home (510 S Main St, Woonsocket, RI 02895). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, September 23rd 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. Joseph Church (1200 Mendon Rd, Woonsocket, RI 02895).
In 2015, he received the Rhode Island Hospitality Association Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of his decades of service and contributions to the hospitality industry and the Woonsocket community.
