He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Harry and Martha Hall Smith; his son Thomas Lee Smith; and his siblings, Harry Smith, Roy Smith, Jimmy Smith, Salley Diaz and Martha Jane Baker.
He is survived by: his spouse LaNettye "Nett" Waters Smith; his close friends, Donny and Bobby Allison; his daughters, Donna "DeeDee" Polovitz (Michael) of Iva and Barbara "JoJo" Finley (Keith) of Iva; and his grandchildren, Joshua Polovitz, Christopher Lee Smith (Jessica), Justin Michael Polovitz, Kiefer Jo Finley (Kristen) and Savannah Grace Polovitz.
