He was predeceased by: his parents, James Pursley (Sarah Amy Hedden Pursley) and Sarah Hedden Pursley; and his siblings, Frances Pursley Hall Lewis, Johnny R. Pursley and Franklin E. Pursley.
He is survived by: his wife Alice Burriss Pursley; his sons, Edward Pursley (Kacey) of Abbeville and David Pursley (Anna) of Abbeville; his brother Larry "Nip" Pursley (Donna) of Moonville, SC; his sister-in-law Ann Leslie Pursley of Abbeville; and his grandchildren, Haven Vines, Abbye Smith (Carson), Langley Light, Dawson, Allyson, Evan and Georgia Grace Pursley. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
