He was predeceased by: his wife Myrtis Johnson Dye; his parents, Herbert J. Dye, Sr. and Vera Johnson Dye Sudduth; and his siblings, Mary Jenkins, Milton Dye and Stephen Dye.
He is survived by: his children, Lee Ann Gordon (Randy), Laura Lawrence (David) and Herbert J. Dye, III; his grandchildren, Katherine Morgan (Evan), Patricia Sorrow (David), Will Gordon and Elizabeth Gordon; his great grandchildren, Clare, Susie, Naomi, Vera, Issac, Sophia and Edith; his sisters, Eugenia Willis of Dacula, GA and Elaine Goss of Douglasville, GA; his sister-in-law Dianne Dye of Hartwell, GA; and his close friends, Carol Norris, Nancy Fogle, Tina Norris, Gina Norris and Gloria Norris.
