We announce the death of Samuel Barron Saxon in Abbeville, South Carolina, who passed away on August 31, 2026, at the age of 79. Samuel will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Edward Saxon and Sarah Ezell Saxon; and his siblings, Nancy Saxon Clark and Ray Edward Saxon. He is survived by: his wife Rita Shirley Saxon; his children, Samuel Brian Saxon (Caroline) of Greenwood and Angela Saxon Latham (Chad) of Greenwood; his grandchildren, Ashlyn Sanders and Brandon Sanders (Alianna); his great grandchildren, Hayden Bush, Emilia Bush, Owen Sanders and Brennleigh Sanders; his sister Vicky Saxon Patterson (Sam) of Clermont, Florida.; and his nephew Steve Clark. He is also survived by his family, friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the South Main Baptist Church (1000 Main St S, Greenwood, SC 29646). A celebration of life was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
