It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Allen Guss Sturkie (Aiken, South Carolina), who passed away on August 20, 2025, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Allen Christopher Gus Sturkie and Cleo Gunner Sturkie; and his sisters, Gussie Mae Arban, Sara Brasher and Brenda Holtzclaw.
He is survived by: his wife Betty "Mozelle" Matthews Sturkie; his sons, Mark A. Sturkie (Marie), Derrick Sturkie and Chris Sturkie (Paula); his siblings, Larry Sturkie, Marie Smith and Ann Shumpert; and his grandchildren, Matthew Sturkie, Michael Sturkie, Emily Murphy, Eric Sturkie and Kasci Padgett. He is also survived by twelve great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.
