It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Anthony Bernard Capers of Aiken, South Carolina, born in Orangeburg, South Carolina, who passed away on May 4, 2025, at the age of 55, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his father McKinley Capers Sr.; and his siblings, Eugene Capers, Cheyenne Capers, Betty Bishop, Nora Brown and McKinley Capers Jr..
He is survived by: his son Anthony B. Capers II (Jay); his wife Delecia Givens-Capers; his daughter McKenna Janae Capers; his mother Reverand Dorothy Capers (Denmark); his siblings, Bobby Capers (New Jersey) of Denmark, James Capers (Valerie) of Denmark, Danny Davis (Barbara) of Denmark, Ronald Capers (Carlett) of Denmark, Thelma (James), Nichols, Lila Morrison (California), Vinece DiNardo (Jerry) of New York, Sara Ann (Hullie), Thompson (Fairfax), Johnella Gaines (Barnwell), Teresa (William), Smiley (Edisto Island), Dorothy Kennedy, Rita Jones and Ocquanetta Counts (Phillip) of Denmark; his mother-in-law Vernecia Givens (Ehrhardt); and his sister-in-law Tanisha E. Givens (Virginia). He is also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, May 10th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Dash's Funeral Home - Bamberg (12409 Heritage Hwy, Bamberg, SC 29003). A funeral service was held on Monday, May 12th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church (832 Mt Zion Rd, Blackville, SC 29817).
