He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Sligh and Grace England Sligh; his brother Arthur Sligh; and his siblings-in-law, Kitty Sligh and Jimmy Nix.
He is survived by: his wife Janice Ingle Sligh; his children, Ginger Glass (Doug) and Jeff Sligh (Denise) of Anderson, SC; the mother of his children Carolyn Martin; his grandchildren, Jessica Glass, Taylor Glass (Courtney), Jamie Madden (Colin), Alicia Sligh, Brianna Sligh, Mackenzie Sligh, Haleigh Sligh, Avery Sligh, Chloe Sligh, Olivia Sligh and Addison Sligh; his siblings, Ernest Sligh (Doris) of Silver Spring, MD, Walter Sligh of Orangeburg, SC and Rose Nix of Lexington, SC; and his sister-in-law Martha Sligh of Livingston, SC. He is also survived by twelve great-grandchildren.
