He is survived by: his wife Patricia Kennedy Pennington; his sons, John Whitton "Whit" Pennington (Karen McPherson) of Shelbyville, KY, Lee Kennedy Pennington of Annapolis, MD and Matthew Brooks Pennington (Sandra); his granddaughters, Georgia Kennedy Pennington and Mae Elizabeth Pennington; and his sister Diane Pennington Patterson (Murray) of Atlanta, GA. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews on both sides of his family.
