He is survived by: his wife Peggy Townsend Kirkland; his children, James Kirkland of Orange, MA, Lex Kirkland (Holly) of Aiken, SC, Kristy Hamilton of Hinsdale, NH and Leigh Kirkland of Aiken, SC; his grandchildren, Austin Kirkland, Skylar Kirkland, Kyle Kirkland, Samantha Browning, Hunter Payton, Michael Payton, Tad Payton, Emily Payton, Reese Kirkland, Bailey Kirkland and Andruw Kirkland; and his sisters, Rebecca Allen (Donnie) and Susan Brown (Charlie). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, May 31st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Calendar Shellhouse-Rivers Funeral Home (715 E Pine Log Rd, Aiken, SC 29803). A funeral service was held on Saturday, May 31st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
