He was predeceased by: his wife Marianne Gregory Harden; his parents, John William and Rachel Johnston Harden; and his brother J. W. "Bill" Harden. He is survived by: his children, Kathy Harden and James A. "Jimmy" Harden, Jr. (Susan); his grandsons, Devan Harden, Noah Moseley and Ryan Moseley; and his nieces, Dana Harden-Hoewt (John) and Jamie Harden Barrett (Carter).
A memorial service was held on Saturday, September 13th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the South Aiken Presbyterian Church (1711 Whiskey Rd, Aiken, SC 29803). Visitation was held on Saturday, September 13th 2025 at 11:45 AM at the same location.
