It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Josephine Caldwell of Aiken, South Carolina, born in Atlanta, Georgia, who passed away on July 20, 2021, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Clifford Owen and Lucile Hendricks Owen; and her husband Lt. Cmd. She is survived by: her daughters, Joanne Dye and Judy Hooks; her grandchildren, Eurie Gene Dye, Jr., Julie Dye Prochnow, John E. Wertz, Jr., Robert Allan Wertz, Mary Jo Wertz West and Carol Kropp Glass; and her daughter Nancy Wertz. She is also survived by 14 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to First Presbyterian Church, 224 Barnwell Ave. NW, Aiken, SC 29801.
