With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Mary Ella Brown of Aiken, South Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 25, 2025 at the age of 77. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Lucius Henry Brown and Mildred Brown; her husband Marvin James Brown Sr.; and her grandson Scott James. She is survived by: her children, Marvin Brown, Jr. (Karla) of Aiken, SC., Margo Thomas (Edwin) of Powder Springs, GA and Marcelle James (Anthony) of Aiken, SC.; and her grandchildren, Joshua, Bryan (Arely), Lucius Brown, Lillian, Mary, Sylvia Thomas and Ella Paige James.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, July 29th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Historic George Funeral Home & Cremation Center (211 Park Ave SW, Aiken, SC 29801). A funeral Mass was held on Wednesday, July 30th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church (138 Fairfield St SE, Aiken, SC 29801).
Memorials in her honor may be made to the charity of one's choice.
