She was predeceased by: her parents, Belton H. Hoover and Salley Driggers Hoover; her husband Charles "Red" Beard; and her son Charles "Alan" Beard. She is survived by: her children, Ronnie Beard (Mary), Walter Beard, Henry Beard (Tina), Sally Beard and David Beard (Kim); her brother Jack "Buster" Hoover; and her grandchildren, Mary Farmer, Sharon Cohn, Carlee Milburn, Cody Beard, Cindy Beard, Dee Gray, Heather Overton, Halie Durden and Stephen Curry. She is also survived by twelve great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Good Hope Baptist Church, 2118 Silver Bluff Rd., Aiken, SC 29803.
