He is survived by: his children, Barbara Grant (Stephen) of Aiken, Rev. Thomas J. Scirghi, SJ of Fordham University, NY and Edward J. Scirghi of Fort Lauderdale, FL.; his sister Dina LaFond of Livingston, NJ; his granddaughters, Patricia Mets (Joseph), Valerie Bedsole (Parker), Jennifer Grant, Madeline Grant and Elizabeth Donley (Griffin); and his great grandchildren, Jack, Noah, Livia, Elijah, Grant, Levi and Audrey.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Historic George Funeral Home & Cremation Center (211 Park Ave SW, Aiken, SC 29801). A rosary will be held on Friday, August 1st 2025 from 7:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the Historic George Funeral Home Downtown Chapel (211 Park Ave SW, Aiken, SC 29801). A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, August 2nd 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church (125 Park Ave SE, Aiken, SC 29801-4546).
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to The New York Province Society of Jesus, 39 East 38th Street, New York, NY, 10028-0810, in honor of Thomas's devotion to education and faith.
