With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Karen Berry DeCosta (Alcolu, South Carolina), who passed away on February 9, 2026 at the age of 60. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Boyd Franklin Berry and Harriet Elizabeth Mizzell; and her brother Robert Franklin Berry. She is survived by: her husband Rev. Michael Anthony DeCosta; her children, Morgan Heintz (Fred) of Sumter and Luke DeCosta of Camp Humphries; her grandson Tatum Heintz; and her sisters, Kathryn Ingrid Berry Redd of Irmo, Karol Elizabeth Berry of Columbia and Trinka Sue Roberts Williamson (Greg) of Pelion. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
