He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard John Irwin, Jr. and Amelia Myers Irwin; his wife Carolyn Irwin; and his sister Mary Ellen Switzer. He is survived by: his daughters, Jennifer Irwin Richardson (David) and Courtney Irwin Dalton; his siblings, Richard John Irwin (Elizabeth), Sadie Irwin Johnson (Winfrey) and Dorothy Irwin Pigott (Jesse); his grandchildren, Madison Edwards (Colby), Savannah Sparks (Tyler), Holland Dalton and Denver Dalton; and his great grandchildren, McKinley Lewis, Bowen Sparks, Selah Sparks, Beckett Edwards and Ainsley Edwards.
No formal service will be held, but rather the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children in Greenville, South Carolina, an organization close to his heart.
