With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Charles Ray Mattison Sr. of Anderson, South Carolina, who passed away on June 1, 2025 at the age of 80. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Charles Ray may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the echoes of his kindness, the warmth of his embrace, and the light of his enduring love.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Marshall Mattison and Sarah Miller Mattison; and his siblings, Dorothy Mattison Jones, Spencer Mattison, Marshall Mattison and Spurgeon Mattison.
He is survived by: his son Charles Mattison Jr. of Anderson, S. C.; and his sisters, Frances Mattison Haile of Brooklyn, NY and Sarah Mattison Ballentine of Belton, S. C.. He is also survived by Nieces, Nephews, and other loving relatives and friends.
Viewing will be held on Friday, June 6th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Foggie - Holloway's Funeral Home - Anderson Sc (1222 S Main St, Anderson, SC 29624). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 7th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, June 7th 2025 at the New Hopewell Baptist Church (209 Dorchester Rd, Belton, SC 29627).
