With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Emma Elizabeth Cherry (Anderson, South Carolina), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 27, 2025 at the age of 77. In the hush of twilight, as the stars twinkle in silent homage, we reflect on the legacy Emma leaves behind and her impact on the lives of her loved ones. Though Emma may no longer walk among us, her spirit lives on in the memories held dear by her family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.
She was predeceased by: her parents, George Gaines and Carrie Bell Moorehead Gaines. She is survived by: her daughters, Patricia Cherry of Anderson, SC and Lisa Walters of Aiken, SC; her sister Georgia Burke of Tennessee; and her son-in-law Jessie Oliver, Jr.. She is also survived by ten grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.
Viewing was held on Friday, October 3rd 2025 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Marcus D. Brown Funeral Home, Inc. (1212 S Main St, Anderson, SC 29624).
