It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Evelyn Hunter (Anderson, South Carolina), who passed away on January 4, 2026, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Evelyn Greenlee and Bo Reid; her husbands, William F. Hunter of Winston-Salem, NC. and David Greenlee; her siblings, Dolly G. Dean and Kenneth Greenlee; her son Jordan Lane (Rodney Gambrell); and her grandsons, Rodney Gambrell and Jordan Lane.
She is survived by: her nieces, Teresa, Cheryl and Gina; her children, Mark Greenlee, Cassandra Caldwell-Winston (Kevin), Christopher Greenlee (Tasha) of Seneca, SC, Stephanie Norman (Julian) of Anderson, SC and Joliva Hayes (Tori); her brother Harry Greenlee (Shelia); her uncle Richard Greenlee; her grandchildren, Miesha, Malasia, Mortice, Desmond Greenlee, Erik Gambrell, Kevin Jr., Vivian Caldwell, Sayvon Lee, DeVonte Gilliard and Kenyida "KJ" Greenlee; her goddaughters, Khristy Jackson Glover-Anderson and Carolyn Anthony Bailey-Winston; her close friends, Rev. Julia Bell-Clemson and Leila Grate; her friends, Janice Grate Jackson, Marie Davis and Sara Spencer; and her adoptive parents, Azalee Curry, Alexandria Bell, Adrian Lewis, Andrea Earle, Todd Finklea, Felix Finklea and Karry Craft Walker. She is also survived by 7 great-grandchildren.
