He is survived by: his children, Tammy M. Childs of Greer, SC, Mary A. Lockhart of Greenville, SC, Belinda F. Melson (Tom) of Greenwood, SC, Carlos A. Dean of Greenwood, SC and Tonekea Thompson of Ninety-Six, SC.; his sisters, Essie Martin of Greenwood, SC, Mary Tolbert of Greenwood, SC, Rosa McCoppin of Greenwood, SC and Isabel Martin of Greenwood, SC; and his nieces, Tiffany L Scott, Amanda Lockhart, Asia Childs, Lisa Davis, Jannie Harrison and Min. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, three great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Viewing was held on Monday, October 19th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the J. L. Parks Family Funeral Home (514 Hackett Ave, Greenwood, SC 29646). A graveside service was held on Tuesday, October 20th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Pavilion of M. J. Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery (140 Inway Dr, Anderson, SC 29621).
