We announce the death of John Owens in Anderson, South Carolina, who passed away on September 21, 2026, at the age of 77. John will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. John will be remembered for the impact he had on the lives of those around him. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Those who knew John will remember moments of kindness, warmth, and presence. Though words cannot fully capture his life, the legacy of connections and experiences remains. John’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued his companionship.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Owens and Margaret Owens. He is survived by: his children, Angela Black (Greg), Dana Owens (Mardell Miller) and Brent Owens (Maggie); his grandchildren, Brady and Lyla; and his siblings, Barbara Wright, Carolyn Owens and James "J. R." Owens. He is also survived by niece, two nephews, several great-nieces and great-nephews, and a circle of devoted friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Standard Cremation & Funeral Center (1621 Pearman Dairy Rd, Anderson, SC 29625). A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Standard Cremation and Funeral Center (1621 Pearman Dairy Rd, Anderson, SC 29625).
