He was predeceased by: his parents, Horace "Jack" Burgess and Claire Williams Burgess; his parents-in-law, Clyde Hill Sr. and Frances Bryant (Robert); his brother Sam Burgess; his sister-in-law Marcia Burgess; his nephews, Tony and Scott Burgess; and his grandchildren, Caleb Martin, Samuel Payne, Mallory Payne and Tanner Payne.
He is survived by: his wife Kathy Burgess; his daughters, Stacey Clamp (Tommy), Lauri Major (Garland) and Cindy Payne (Josh); his siblings, Jim Burgess, Frank Burgess, Dave Burgess (Sharlene), Pat Fisher (Dan) and Elaine Wilbanks (Mack); his grandchildren, Kelsie Clamp, Jacob Clamp (Samantha), Pamela, Abbigail, Jimmy Major, Caroline Phillips (Tyler), Michael Burgess (Chastity), Brantley Brooks (Erin), Jairus Martin (Sarah), Madison Martin, Mikaylee and Maci Payne; Debbie Burgess. He is also survived by twelve great-grandchildren.
