She was predeceased by: her parents, Sanford Allen Turner, Sr. and Mattie Lou Shumate Turner; her former husband David Lee Gunter; her husband Arthur Higgins; her siblings, Lawrence, Lewis, Sanford Allen Turner, Jr. and Delma Anderson; her sisters-in-law, Minnie Lee Turner and Marian Turner; and her nephew David Anderson.
She is survived by: her sibling's children, James Turner (Ann), Paul Turner, Laurie Mosely (Moe), Betty Ann Sanders (late Thomas), Ellen Lewis McKerley and Kathy Garvin; and her goddaughter Pam Robinson (Dennis).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Homeland Park Baptist Church.
