She was predeceased by: her spouse Milledge L. Smith; her parents, Van Hawkins and Ruby Wardlaw Hawkins; and her siblings, Betty Perry and Horace Hawkins.

She is survived by: her daughters, Melody Huitt, Tammy Thompson and Pam Bannister. She is also survived by six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Friday, May 30th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Sullivan-King Mortuary Chapel (3205 N Hwy 81, Anderson, SC 29621). A funeral service was held on Friday, May 30th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
