Martin Scheivert Obituary

We announce the death of Martin Scheivert of Anderson, South Carolina, who passed away on August 2, 2026, at the age of 69. Martin will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Martin will be remembered for the impact he had on the lives of those around him. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Those who knew Martin will remember moments of kindness, warmth, and presence. Though words cannot fully capture his life, the legacy of connections and experiences remains. Martin’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued his companionship.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Michael Scheivert and Barbara Louise Franks Scheivert; his son-in-law John Porterfield; and his sister-in-law Sue Black. He is survived by: his significant other Kendra Jo McKinney Scheivert; his children, Tiffany Scheivert Johnson, Danette Porterfield, Christie Cottrell (Troy) and Casey Goss; his brother Michael Scheivert Sr. (Robin); his close friend Duane Scheivert; and his brother-in-law Mac (Georgia). He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, many beloved nieces and nephews, loving and caring aunts and uncles and countless cousins.
