We bid farewell to Mary Mattison (Anderson, South Carolina), born in Elberton, Georgia, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on June 15, 2025 at the age of 78. She was predeceased by: her parents, Curtis Hill and Cora Lee Brown; her husband James W. Mattison; and her siblings, Waydene Cureton, Jessie Lee Cureton, Linda Rowe, Carolyn Hill, Robert Cureton, Hank Hill and Curtis Hill Jr..

She is survived by: her children, Lisa Pond (Pedro) of Anderson, Wallace Mattison (Tracey) of Belton, SC and Rickey Mattison (Gloria) of Anderson; her stepson James Mattison (Ranata) of Atlanta, GA; her grandchildren, Shamoan Gray, Pedro Pond (Marissa), Octavius Pond (Desiree), Courtney Goldsmith (Andre), Kelsey Mattison (Ashley), Malaeka Pond (Keyshawn Adams), Jada Pond and Sidney Mattison; her stepgrandchildren, Ebony Hearns, Jae Mattison (Kate), Jendiya Mattison and Jordynn Mattison; and her siblings, Diane Heard of Elberton, GA, Barbara Ann Cureton of Elberton, GA, Carolyn Bolton of Elberton, GA, Bonnie Olgesby of Elberton, GA, Gloria Hill (Ben) of Elberton, GA, Elizabeth Davis of Athens, GA, Norma (Henry), Jutty "Bo-Peep" Cureton of Hartwell, GA and Spencer Hill of Elberton, GA. She is also survived by 12 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, other family members and friends.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 19th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Unity Mortuary of Anderson (401 S Fant St, Anderson, SC 29624). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, July 20th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the King David Baptist Church (308 Old Green Pond Rd, Anderson, SC 29625).
