She was predeceased by : her parents, Lester Smith and Ella Smith; her husband John Hall Thompson Jr.; her son John Earl Thompson; her siblings, Lester, Wallace, Howard, Alvin, Clarence, Robert "Bobby", Ernest Oneal Smith, Etrulia Skelton, Beatrice Paul, Helen Martin and Ella Mattison; and her grandsons, Demetrius Epps, Harry Allen and Wally Dawson.
She is survived by : her children, Gwenette Yvonne, Barbara Diane, Stanley Sylester of Anderson, SC, Glenda Faye, Yvonne Leverette of Anderson, SC, Diane Dawson (Larry) of Starr, SC and Faye Simmons (Mario) of Memphis, TN; her siblings, Marion Smith of Iva, SC and Brenda Richardson (Leo) of Iva, SC; her uncle Eugene Burriss; and her aunt Doris Hall. She is also survived by 21 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
