He was predeceased by: his parents, John Fred Dean and Florence Hunter Dean; his wife Barbara Mattison Dean; and his siblings, Fred Henry Dean (Mary Lou), Rev. George Dean, Thaddeus Dean, Leola Dean Robinson and Evelyn Dean Smith.
He is survived by: his children, Kelvin Samuel Dean, Timilyn R. Dean, Shawn Black (Lawrence) and Elaine Crafter (Eric); his grandchildren, Lauryn Makayla Black, Jaden Samuel Black, Garrett Dean Crafter and Alex Charles Crafter; and his sisters, Elizabeth Dean Lewis and Mildred Dean Bradley. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, extended relatives, cherished friends.
