He was predeceased by: his parents, Arlington Smith and Alice Rebecca Fowler Smith; and his siblings, William Smith, Montez Bryant, Thelma King, Melvin Smith, Thrace Haley, Jeanette Finley and Mildred Russell.
He is survived by: his wife Sybil Reeves Smith of Anderson; his children, BruceNell Smith (Kathy Fritz) and Sharon S. Cothran (Steve); his grandchildren, Blake Wilton Cothran (Mary Grace), Kyle Steven Cothran (Emily) and Carey Glenn Smith (Kira Yorzinski); and his great grandchildren, Tinsley Cothran, Eva Grace Mitchell, Bradley Cothran and Ramona Jane Smith.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM at the Oakwood Baptist Church (304 Pearman Dairy Rd, Anderson, SC 29625). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
