Hunter, Sr.; her daughters, Lucinda Austin of Pendleton, SC, Geraldine Hunter, Daisy Smith (Rickey) of Seneca, SC, Angela Willingham of Anderson, SC and Vanessa Crosby of Pendleton, SC; her granddaughters, Yolanda Hunter of Pendleton, SC, Angelika Ramsey (Reco) of Pendleton, SC, Gerri Hunter of Pendleton, SC and Dominique Hunter of Brunson, SC; her son Waymon Hunter of Pendleton, SC; her stepson Marlon (Ja'Shaun) of Waxhaw, NC; her adoptive daughter Buffy Smith (Chris) of Laurens, SC; her sisters, Mae Ellen Beaty of Ft. Washington, MD, Merdis Wiley of Pendleton, SC and Emily Jones of Anderson, SC; her siblings-in-law, Vada Wiley of Anderson, SC, Janie Corner of Anderson, SC, Annie Smith of Anderson, SC, Bonnie Hunter of Rock Hill, SC, Mamie Williford of Philadelphia, PA, David (Eugenia) of Anderson, SC, McLester (Gloria) of Anderson, SC and Adger Ray Blanding (Joyce) of Anderson, SC; her husband James Rufus Blanding; her son Johnny J. Hunter, Jr.; her son-in-law Christopher P. Crosby; her grandchildren, Blake Hunter and Ivy Smith; her stepmother Velma McGee Wiley; her brother Nathaniel Wiley; her stepsister Shirley Haymon; and her brothers-in-law, Rufus Beaty and Joe Jones. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren.
Viewing was held on Friday, November 14th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Marcus D. Brown Funeral Home, Inc. (1212 S Main St, Anderson, SC 29624). A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 15th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the New Prospect Baptist Church (250 Lakewood Dr, Townville, SC 29689). A burial was held on Saturday, November 15th 2025 at the Piney Grove Baptist Church (211 Chapman Rd, Anderson, SC 29625).
