It is with sadness that the passing of Brenda Caroline McCants Wildes of Andrews, South Carolina is shared. Brenda, born on July 27, 1939, passed away on August 16, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Dewey McCants and Virginia Parsons McCants; her husband Alex Wildes; and her siblings, Charles McCants (Stan), Everett McCants (Carolyn), Dale McCants (Margie), Ricky McCants and Allison Jenkins (Andrew).
She is survived by: her family McCants Hill; her children, Jeff Wildes (Carolyn) of Georgetown, Dianna Deese (Gary) of Leesville and Tracy McCants (Rodney) of Andrews; her grandchildren, Andrew Wildes (Kat) of Brooklyn, Amanda Young (Wade) of Georgetown, Emily King (Josh) of Georgetown, Alexis Deese of Canterbury, England, Sara Lynn Calderon (Benji) of Lexington, SC, Rod McCants (Mary Hurston) of Spartanburg and Robert McCants (Kayla) of Andrews; her great grandchildren, Joshua King, Olivia King, Caleb King, Anthony Calderon and Charlie Calderon; her sister-in-law Verma McCants of Florence; and her caregivers, Victoria Scott and Chrissie Robinson. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, August 19th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Andrews First Baptist Church (10 N Rosemary Ave, Andrews, SC 29510). A celebration of life was held on Wednesday, August 19th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church (10 N Rosemary Ave, Andrews, SC 29510).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Andrews First Baptist Church Building & Grounds Fund or to Breakthrough T1D South Carolina, supporting research toward a cure for Type 1 diabetes.
