She was predeceased by: her husband Carl Persell Bacote Sr.; her parents, Andrew Sanders Sr. and Alfair Green Sanders; and her siblings, Victoria Powell, Asalee Simmons, Bertha Reid, Andrew Sanders Jr., Derrick Sanders and William Sanders.
She is survived by: her children, Valjean Jeanette Alston (Ray Anthony), Carl Persell Bacote Jr., Persephone Denise Bacote and Orrin Travis Bacote; her siblings, Carolyn P. Smalls, Marjoria Williams, Frances Pinkney (Richard), Bernett Sanders, Bobbygene Sanders and Floyd Sanders (Sandra); and her sister-in-law Andera Bacote.
