He was predeceased by : his wife Audrey Hair Chaney; and his siblings, Lauriston Chaney, Brantley Chaney, Luke Chaney, Arden Chaney, Louise Freeman and Gertelene Smith.

He is survived by : his children, Brad Chaney (Frankie) and Amy Heffern (John); his grandchildren, Carl Chaney (Elizabeth), Haley Chaney-Yost (Josh), Kathleen Heffern, Abby Heffern and Caroline Heffern; his great grandchildren, Ezekiel, Haven and Amelia Chaney; and his sister-in-law Valarie Chaney. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
