He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles F. Black and Thelma Holloway Black of Bamberg, SC.. He is survived by: his son John Yong Ho K. Black; his daughter-in-law Hannah Inman Black; his sister Martha Black Lucas (David); and his sibling's children, Jonathan Benjamin Black Lucas (Jenny), Cary Lucas Nikonchuk (Erick) and Lydia Darby Simons Lucas (Harvey).

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 9th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Bamberg First Baptist Church (11823 Heritage Hwy, Bamberg, SC 29003). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 9th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.

In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to Olar First Baptist Church, 35 Hull Street , Olar, SC 29843.
