She was predeceased by : her parents, Harold Whirton and Zena Grunberg Whirton; and her spouse Gene Turner Johnson. She is survived by : her daughters, Karen Merritt (David) of Sandy Run, SC, Samantha Driggers (Westley L.) of Bamberg, SC and Michelle Cox (Robert) of Las Vegas, NV; her siblings, John Whirton (Zel), Esther Bolton (Arthur) and Daniel Whirton (Phillip); her grandchildren, Haley Shuler (Bryan), David Merritt, Jr. (Santana), Steven Driggers (Dawn), Robert Cox, Jr. (Lian), Chelseé Loadholt (Travis) and Tiffany Cox (William); and her great grandchildren, Braley, Benjamin, Wylder, Luke, Caylee, Lily, Paislee, Joey, Caden, Mikey, Isabella and Lilly.
