It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Carolyn Kay Ray (Barnwell, South Carolina), born in Grayson, Kentucky, who passed away on August 21, 2023, at the age of 61, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, Matthew Herrell and Beatrice Herrell Sanders (Claytor); her children, Tina Ray and Tim Ray; and her husband Jackie R. Ray Sr..

She is survived by : her children, Jackie R. Ray Jr. (Jessica) of Blackville, Shirley Croft (Will) of Barnwell, Janey Smith (Travis) of Augusta and Ben Ray (Crystal) of Hilda; her brother James McCormick of Barnwell; her grandchildren, Kaitlyn Ray, Alyssa Carroll, Jackson Ray, Collin Hutto, Kaylin Hutto, Tyler Zorn, Stanley Zorn, Michael Croft, Grace Zorn, Kaden Croft and Kaleb Croft; her great grandchild Kaidence Cheatham; and her close friend Randy Owens. She is also survived by 12 step-grandchildren, 5 step-great-grandchildren.
