Doris Jean (Jones) Green Obituary
Doris Jean Jones Green was born on March 1, 1961, to Rosa Jones and Charlie Creech, Sr. in Barnwell, South Carolina, whom both preceded her in death. She departed this life on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at Lexington Medical Center, Columbia, South Carolina.
Doris Graduated from Barnwell High School in 1979. In 1985, she started working for Wal-Mart where she held multiple positions which included management. She was employed there for 37 years. She also worked for Academy Street Community Residence in Williston, South Carolina for 20 years.
She was known as a hard and dedicated worker and for having a very kind and loving spirit. Doris always wore a smile and devoted her time to helping others. She went above and beyond for those she cared for and loved, especially family. In her spare time, she enjoyed exercising, baking, and traveling.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Joe Green; five brothers: James Edward Jones, Joe Nathan Jones, Willie Creech, George Creech and Nathaniel Creech; and two sisters: Ellen Jones and Mary Alice Jones.
Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her fiance: Carl Peeples of Blackville, South Carolina; Seven sisters: Louise Jacobs, Dorothy Devoe, Ethel Odom (John Thomas), Helen Jones, Lovette Love (Tommy), Gloria Brown, and Rose McKethan (Edward) all of Barnwell, South Carolina; One brother: Charlie Creech, Jr. of Seattle, Washington; Sisters-in-law: Carolinda Underwood Jones, Emma Jones, Eva Nell Creech and Hermenia Creech; Best friend/sister: Eloise Moore; Godchildren: Ethan Pullins and Madison Jones; and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
