It is with great sadness that we announce the death of George A. McClanahan of Barnwell, South Carolina, who passed away on March 26, 2026, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Victor F. McClanahan and Lilly Steakley McClanahan. He is survived by: his brothers, Jerry, Jim, Rodger, Doyle and Patrick; his wife Mary Diane Stewart; his daughters, Nancy Yap and Georgia Lopresti; and his grandchildren, Joshua, Sherilyn, Cassandra and Julie. He is also survived by 4 great grandchildren.
He retired and moved to South Carolina where he died from Parkinson's Disease at home, with his family being able to be by his side.
